2026 Lantern Festival

Project type

Events

Date

March 1st, 2026

Location

Lexington, MA

Hundreds of residents gathered in Lexington’s historic town center Sunday for the 4th Annual Lexington Lantern Festival, celebrating the Lunar New Year with cultural performances, family activities, and a lantern parade.

Held at Cary Memorial Building and along Massachusetts Avenue, the event was organized by the New Legacy Cultural Center (NLCC) in partnership with over twenty local organizations, including the Town of Lexington, the Lex250 Commission, the Lexington History Museums, and the Chinese American Association of Lexington.

Families enjoyed lantern-making, calligraphy, and cultural exhibits, while students and community groups presented music, dance, and traditional performances. The evening concluded with a lantern parade to the Lexington Visitors Center, where a projection light show illuminated Buckman Tavern.

The festival continues to grow as a celebration of Lunar New Year and community connection.
