Our Instructors

Lin Zhantao, erhu player, former associate professor of Guangxi Arts Institute, honorary director of Huqin Professional Committee of Chinese NationalOrchestra Association. He is currently a member of Greater Boston Chinese Cultural Association (GBCCA).

In January 2019, he was invited by Harvard University Department of Music to be awarded the title of Blodgett Guest Artist.  Mr. Lin has been teaching erhu classes at GBCCA since 2005, and it has been 20 years. Many of his students have won awards in various competitions with erhu, and many have become performers of GBCCA National Orchestra and some music clubs.

Yi Ding is a member of the China Nationalities Orchestra Society and the Henan Traditional Orchestra Society. She currently serves on the board of the Boston Chinese Musicians Association and is the director of the BCMA Youth  Orchestra. She is also the guzheng instructor in the Music Department at Phillips Academy.

In 2023, she was awarded the Outstanding Teacher Award” by the American Youth Musicians Association. From 2023 to 2026, she received the “Outstanding Educational Contribution Award” from the Boston International Music Competition for three consecutive years. From 2019 to 2026, she was recognized for eight consecutive years as an “Excellent Instructor” by the Central Conservatory of Music Examination Board.

Dr. Chi-Sun Chan is a highly experienced Chinese drum instructor with over ten years of experience. He is dedicated to bringing the ancient art of Chinese drumming to life through his masterful teaching skills.

Dr. Chan serves as the Music Director and Conductor of the GBCCA Chinese Music Ensemble and is also the founder of the Boston Synchrony Chinese Percussion Ensemble. He is committed to sharing his passion with others and nurturing talent at institutions like Lexington Chinese School, GBCCA Huaxin School of Arts, Tzu Chi Boston, and beyond.
