Manderin for All
莱星中文
The New Legacy Cultural Center (NLCC) Mandarin Program offers a flexible and engaging Chinese language learning experience through both weekend and weekday options.
Weekend classes include three tracks: Ma Li Ping for students who already speak and understand Mandarin and are ready to develop reading and writing skills; Meizhou Huayu for learners with some exposure to Mandarin, focusing on vocabulary, conversation, and cultural understanding; and CSL (Chinese as a Second Language) for beginners who speak English at home and are new to Mandarin, emphasizing basic communication skills through interactive learning.
We encourage families to add our weekday Mandarin immersion program, which offers daily exposure to the language through speaking, listening, reading, writing, and hands-on cultural activities. This enriching experience complements weekend learning and provides a supportive environment where students can thrive and deepen their Mandarin skills.
Course Offerings

Ma Li Pin Mandarin
Our Ma Li Ping Mandarin classes are designed for students who already have Mandarin speaking and listening abilities and are ready to build a strong foundation in reading and writing. Using the well-regarded 马立平教材 (Ma Li Ping curriculum), these classes help heritage learners deepen their understanding of Chinese characters, sentence structures, and cultural context through stories, classical idioms, and engaging discussions.
With experienced instructors and a supportive learning environment, students will strengthen literacy skills while continuing to develop oral fluency. These classes are ideal for learners looking to advance their Mandarin proficiency in a structured, academically rich program.

Meizhou Mandarin
Our Meizhou Huayu Mandarin classes are designed for children growing up in the U.S. who are learning Chinese as a second language or maintaining heritage language skills. The Meizhou Huayu curriculum was created specifically for overseas learners, making it a great fit for students who speak English at home but want to build confidence in Mandarin.
Through engaging stories, songs, cultural topics, and everyday vocabulary, students gradually develop skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Whether your child is just starting out or has some background in Mandarin, our experienced teachers create a warm and supportive environment where learning is fun and meaningful.
These classes are perfect for American families who want their children to stay connected to Chinese language and culture in a way that works with their daily lives.

CSL (Chinese as Second Language)
Our CSL (Chinese as a Second Language) classes are perfect for students who are new to Mandarin. Designed for those who speak English at home and are just beginning their Chinese language journey, the program builds a strong foundation in listening, speaking, reading, and writing through fun and interactive lessons.
Using age-appropriate stories, games, songs, and cultural activities, our experienced instructors make learning Mandarin both accessible and enjoyable. Students will gain practical vocabulary, learn to recognize and write basic characters, and develop confidence using the language in real-life situations.
This class is ideal for families looking to introduce their children to Mandarin in a supportive and engaging environment—no prior experience needed!
